BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Medical Science
The BTEC level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Medical Science is a course that is designed for students who want to continue with science at KS5, or pursue science as a career option but do not wish to complete AS courses in science.
This course will also enable students to take up employment in the Applied Science sector once completed.
The course is equivalent in size to an A level but covers the content within a vocational context. The main purpose is to develop scientific knowledge, practical, and communication skills.
Year 12 units:
Unit 1- Fundamentals of Science.
Unit 2- Working in the Science Industry.
Unit 4- Scientific Practical Techniques.
Year 13 units:
Unit 11- Physiology of Human Body Systems.
Unit 15 – Microbiological Techniques.
Unit 21- Biomedical Science Techniques
BTEC National Higher/ Undergraduate degree.
Forensic science, Chemical engineering, biomedical science, human physiology, environmental sciences, pharmacy, health professions and scientific research.
