Religious Studies - Philosophy and Ethics A Level
A 2 year course comprising of 3 elements - philosophy, ethics and developments in Christian thought.
The philosophy unit traces the origins of philosophical thinking back to Plato and Artistotle and proceeds through to the modern day and examination of interpretations of miracles, nature of God and religious language and ideas about life after death.
The ethics unit concentrates on how we address ethical debates - using established ethical theories. It considers controversial issues such as abortion, euthanasia and animal testing.
As an essay-based subjects, Philosophy and Ethics is hugely valued by universities and employers. Past students have gone on to become lawyers, teachers and nurses.
